These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. By creating an account or using Khelo you agree to them, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and Disclaimer.

1. Definitions

• Platform — the Khelo website/app at khelo.online and its APIs.
• User — any person with a Khelo account.
• Host (or organizer/captain) — a User who creates a Match, Group event, Team, or Competition.
• Player — a User who joins or applies to join a Match.
• Match — a game listing created on the Platform (pickup or squad mode, free or paid).
• Direct Payment — a payment made by a Player to a Host outside the Platform (e.g. UPI), coordinated but not processed by Khelo.

2. Eligibility & accounts

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. 2.2 One account per person, registered to your own Indian mobile number. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account. Use the in-app logout (including "log out all sessions") if you suspect compromise, and inform us. 2.3 Information you provide (name, username, city, sports profile) must be accurate and not impersonate anyone.

3. What Khelo provides — and what it does not

3.1 Khelo is a discovery and coordination tool: listings, joining/approval workflows, rosters, groups, competitions, reminders, recommendations, and reputation signals. 3.2 Khelo is not: a party to any game; an employer, sports operator, or event manager; a venue provider or booking agent (venue arrangements, where any, are made by Hosts off-platform); a payment system, wallet, escrow, or money transmitter; an insurer. 3.3 Venue information (including community-submitted and map-sourced venues) is indicative and unverified; confirm details with the venue/Host.

4. Hosting a game

4.1 Hosts set the details (sport, venue/area, time, capacity, skill expectation, price per person if any) and must keep them accurate. 4.2 A Host charging a fee is collecting money personally (e.g. to split ground cost). The Host — not Khelo — is responsible for: honesty of the stated price/purpose, verifying payments received, admitting paid players, and returning money where owed (Refund Policy). 4.3 Hosts marking "ground booked" self-certify that claim; Khelo does not verify bookings. 4.4 Squad captains and competition owners must exercise their accept/reject/lock and result-entry powers honestly and non-discriminatorily. 4.5 Cancelling games repeatedly or late harms other Users and is reflected in your reputation; abusive patterns may lead to enforcement (§11).

5. Joining a game

5.1 Free games: joining confirms your spot instantly; if you can't attend, cancel in-app as early as possible. 5.2 Paid games: applying reserves no spot. Your spot is confirmed only when the Host verifies your Direct Payment. Claiming payment falsely is a serious violation. 5.3 Private matches require the join code shared by the Host; do not share codes without the Host's permission. 5.4 No-shows and late arrivals may be recorded by Hosts and affect your reputation.

6. Payments between users

6.1 All Direct Payments occur outside the Platform, typically UPI, directly from Player to Host. Khelo never holds, routes, or guarantees funds. 6.2 Khelo records coordination status only — not_required (free) / pending / paid (Player marked it) / verified (Host confirmed receipt) / rejected / refund_pending (a paid/verified booking was cancelled, so the Host owes a return) / refunded (Host marked it returned) — and any evidence users submit, and maintains an immutable audit log of such actions, which the parties involved may use in resolving disputes. 6.3 Khelo does not adjudicate payment disputes and owes no refunds for User-to-User payments. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy. 6.4 Hosts are solely responsible for any tax or regulatory obligations arising from money they collect. 6.5 Free public grounds: some venues are community-contributed free public grounds. A match at a free public ground is always free — no fee and no UPI apply. 6.6 Disputes & reports: a party to a booking may raise a dispute (e.g. not paid, not refunded, no-show, misconduct); any user may report a user or match. A neutral Khelo moderator — never the accused Host — reviews these and may resolve/dismiss a dispute, or warn or suspend an offender (§11). These processes coordinate accountability; they never move money.

7. Groups, teams & competitions

7.1 Group owners/admins control membership and recurring events for their group; ownership can be transferred but not abandoned while members remain. 7.2 Team captains control their roster. Competition owners control registration approval, fixtures, and result entry, and must record results in good faith. Standings/statistics are computed from entered results; Khelo does not verify sporting outcomes. 7.3 Names, colors, and crests chosen for teams/squads must comply with §9 and §10.

8. Reviews & reputation

8.1 Post-match reviews (ratings, comments, reliability flags) must reflect your genuine experience of that match. Prohibited: review extortion, retaliation for a lawful payment rejection, coordinated rating manipulation, self-review circumvention. 8.2 Reputation scores are computed automatically from real activity and are provided "as is" as a community signal, not a warranty of anyone's conduct. 8.3 Moderators may hide reviews that violate these Terms; hidden reviews are excluded from scores.

9. User content

9.1 You retain ownership of content you post (photos, bios, names, comments, crests). You grant Khelo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, and reproduce it for operating and promoting the Platform (e.g. showing your match card in shared links), for as long as it remains on the Platform. Details: IP Policy. 9.2 You must hold the rights to what you upload — including payment screenshots (which may show your own banking app UI) and any images of other people. 9.3 Copyright complaints are handled under the Copyright Policy.

10. Prohibited conduct

In addition to the Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policy, you must not: (a) make false payment claims or wrongfully reject genuine payments; (b) harass, threaten, discriminate, or endanger others at games; (c) impersonate, defraud, or phish; (d) list games for unlawful activity or venues you have no right to use; (e) scrape, probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the Platform; (f) circumvent blocks, bans, or squad/competition integrity mechanisms; (g) use the Platform for commercial solicitation unrelated to organizing games without our written consent.

11. Suspension & termination

11.1 We may warn, restrict features (e.g. hosting), suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with severity proportionate to the violation, and remove violating content. Where practicable we will state the reason; you may contest via the Grievance process. 11.2 You may stop using Khelo at any time and request deletion under the Account Deletion Policy. 11.3 Sections 6, 9, 12–15, 17 survive termination.

12. Disclaimers & assumption of risk

Sport involves risk of injury. You participate in games found through Khelo voluntarily and at your own risk, and are responsible for your fitness, safety, and insurance. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy of listings/venues, or the conduct, identity, or skill of any User. 13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: Khelo's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Platform is limited to ₹1,000 (or, if you have paid Khelo any fees in the preceding 12 months, that amount); Khelo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses; and Khelo is not liable for User-to-User payments, injuries at games, venue disputes, or acts/omissions of other Users. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law (including for fraud).

14. Indemnity

You will indemnify Khelo, its operator, and personnel against claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, your games (as Host), or your unlawful acts.

15. Intellectual property

The Platform software, design system, branding ("Khelo" name and marks), and documentation are owned by the Operator or its licensors. Limited licence: to use the app for its intended purpose. See IP Policy.

16. Changes to the service or terms

Features may change (this is an actively developed platform — dormant features such as gateway payments or push notifications may activate later, with corresponding policy updates). We may amend these Terms with notice via the Platform; continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Material changes affecting your rights will be highlighted.

17. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer-law forum, the courts at the city of the Operator's registered office in India (identified in Contact & Legal Information) have exclusive jurisdiction. Before litigation, parties agree to attempt resolution via the grievance process (§18).
